Mason Mount has today opened up on the prospect of playing alongside soon-to-be Chelsea teammate Hakim Ziyech.
In something of a bolt-from-the-blue back in February, widespread reports began to emerge that Chelsea were on the verge of clinching a deal for gifted Ajax creator Ziyech.
This was quickly followed by subsequent confirmation on the part of the Blues that an agreement had been found with the Dutch champions, for a fee in the region of €40 million.

As such, Moroccan international Ziyech is set to make the move to Stamford Bridge over the coming months, once the COVID-19 halted campaign has come to a close.
‘Buzzing to work with him’
Ziyech’s signing, while unquestionably a huge coup for Chelsea, though, is of course set to add further competition to an already crowded Blues attack.
As things stand, Frank Lampard already has the likes of Pedro Rodriguez, Willian, Christian Pulisic, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi to support his side’s strikers.
Another individual who’s game-time could well be affected by Ziyech’s arrival, meanwhile, is Mason Mount.
The English international has enjoyed a breakout campaign as part of Chelsea’s first-team squad, but would likely be shifted to the bench, if Frank Lampard opts to utilise his side’s latest reinforcement in a central role.
Mount, though, is nevertheless excited by the prospect of linking up with Ziyech, a player whom the 21-year-old feels possesses ‘world-class’ abilities:
‘So two years ago I was in Holland on loan so I knew a bit about him then and obviously how good of a player he is,’ Mount explained during a Combat Corona FIFA tournament.
‘So obviously it’s another amazing, world-class player joining the club. So yeah buzzing to work with him, train with him and hopefully play with him.’
