Chelsea & Luka Jovic
Chelsea have lodged an official bid to sign striker Luka Jovic, reports Bild on Thursday.
According to the German daily, Chelsea have offered Eintracht Frankfurt 45 million euros for Jovic.
Why are Chelsea interested in the 21-year-old striker?
Bild believe Jovic is Chelsea’s number one target to replace Olivier Giroud in the summer.
Giroud is a free agent at the end of the season. It’s clear that Bild believe Giroud will leave Stamford Bridge before the 2019-20 campaign begins.
Barcelona & Real Madrid
Bild note that Chelsea may face stiff competition to land Jovic.
Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also name-dropped as potential suitors.
Indeed, Barcelona have reported been in contact with Jovic’s agent Fali Ramadani about a possible move.
For what it’s worth, Bild also note that Ramadani has spoken to Frankfurt about Chelsea’s interest in his client too.
Barcelona have a problem
When it comes to assessing the likelihood of Jovic joining Barcelona, Bild have doubts.
In January, Barcelona confirmed the signing of Frenkie De Jong from Ajax for 75 million euros.
The Catalans are also tipped to be ready to spend another 65 million euros on Ajax centre-half Matthijs de Ligt.
Were that to happen, financial fair play restrictions may prohibit Barca splashing out on Jovic too.
Bild: Chelsea want to bring Jovic in this summer. His agent Ramadani is a friend of Roman and helped with Sarri’s move as an intermediary. Barca want him but can’t go over €50m due to FFP. https://t.co/uO1TulhesM

Barcelona & Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette
Bild also link Barcelona with Arsenal.
The German paper believes that if Barca don’t sign Jovic, they’ll move onto other targets.
One of those targets is named as Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette.
Bild fail to provide any significant details about Barca’s interest in the Arsenal forward, save for saying that “Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette (27) of Arsenal is more experienced and versatile than Jovic.”
Bild also link Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas with Barcelona.
Who is Luka Jovic?
Luka Jovic became a household name in Europe back in October.
That’s after the 21-year-old scored five goals in a match against Fortuna Dusseldorf.
This season Jovic, a Serbian international attacker, has 14 goals in the Bundesliga.
He’s also scored an impressive five goals in six Europa League matches.
