Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech believes he can still learn a lot from ‘word-class’ Eden Hazard

Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech believes he can still learn a lot from ‘word-class’ Eden Hazard

Ziyech’s Chelsea stint

Despite a testing start to the season, it is obvious that Chelsea have found a real bargain in Hakim Ziyech.

The Moroccan missed the opening weeks of the campaign with a knee injury picked up during a pre-season friendly vs Brighton.

However, since recently returning, Ziyech has proven to be one of the Blues’ standout stars.

The winger has already provided three assists and one goal in six Premier League appearances for the Londoners, with his left foot a threat to any opposing backline.

His link-up play with Reece James down Chelsea’s right flank has also been quite impressive, albeit in limited minutes thus far.

Ziyech looking to learn from Hazard

Despite already dazzling in southwest London, however, Ziyech is looking to take further inspiration from a Chelsea legend.

That man is Eden Hazard, who was by far and away the Blues’ best player before his move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian has since endured something of a rough patch with Los Blancos, largely due to injuries.

Ziyech, though, recently revealed his opinion that Hazard remains a ‘world-class player’, whom he can learn a lot from:

“Eden is a world-class player and you always take inspiration off how he is playing the game. You always look at the small things and how he’s doing stuff. I still can learn a lot from him.

“So far I’m happy. I feel good and I feel home, so those things are the most important things to how you perform on the pitch.

“I always know what I’m capable of doing and I always trust in myself. I am calm in my head and know the other things are coming.

“That’s always why you want to take a bigger step, to challenge yourself with better players around you. I think that’s good for every player.”
