Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic provides fitness update ahead of FA Cup final

Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic has moved to dismiss any remaining concerns over his fitness, ahead of the fast-approaching FA Cup final.

Arsenal vs Chelsea

This weekend will see two of the Premier League’s finest battle it out for FA Cup glory.

Arsenal and Chelsea are the sides in question, with the London rivals set to face off in a 5.30 kick-off at Wembley on Saturday.

The former of course booked their spot in the showpiece courtesy of an impressive win over Manchester City, with star hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the double.

Chelsea, meanwhile, also looked superb in their semi-final outing, when Frank Lampard’s men dominated Manchester United en route to a deserved 3-1 victory.

As such, with both sides having since clinched 3 points in their respective final day Premier League outings, it is anyone’s guess as to who is set to emerge victorious from English football’s biggest cup occasion in 48 hours’ time.

‘100% fit’

Chelsea, though, flying high after securing a top-4 berth and in turn their spot in next season’s Champions League, will no doubt be brimming with confidence ahead of Saturday’s clash.

And, as outlined above, the Blues have today also been handed a boost on the personnel front.

United States international Christian Pulisic has been in scintillating form of late, and played a key role in Chelsea’s Premier League run-in.

Nevertheless, though, Frank Lampard opted against utilising the 21-year-old from the off in his side’s defeat at Liverpool last week, with the Blues boss having cited a ‘small injury in his thigh’ as justification.

Pulisic was nevertheless fit enough to emerge from the bench, and almost single-handedly guided his side to the most unlikely of comebacks with a quickfire goal and assist.

As such, speaking in an interview with ESPN earlier today, the Chelsea wide-man was drawn on his fitness levels ahead of the FA Cup final.

Pulisic, though, was quick to assure that he is fully fit and raring to go:

‘I never had a real issue. I’m 100% fit.’
