England vs Denmark

England are set to bring their latest round of fixtures to a close on Wednesday evening.

The final of the Three Lions’ three outings will see them play host to Denmark in a Nations League clash.

This will come as the second of two meetings between the sides over recent months, following a rather drab 0-0 draw in Copenhagen during the last international break.

That stalemate, meanwhile, saw England’s chances of topping their Nations League group appear to take a big hit.

However, after Gareth Southgate’s men saw off Belgium on Sunday, they are now at the summit of Group B.

England lose two full-backs

With a second meeting with Belgium still to come, though, England could well require maximum points versus Denmark and Iceland in their efforts to keep hold of top spot.

But, unfortunately for the Three Lions, they have now lost two key full-backs ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

Confirmation was forthcoming on Tuesday morning that both Ben Chilwell and Kieran Trippier have departed the national team camp, and will be unavailable vs Denmark:

No explanation for the departure of the pair was provided by England.

The Evening Standard, though, have since shed some light on the situation.

It is claimed that Trippier left due to a personal matter.

As for Chilwell, in a blow for Chelsea, it is understood that the left-back has been forced to withdraw due to a flare-up of a pre-existing foot injury.

Chelsea are set to face Southampton this coming Saturday, and Frank Lampard will now no doubt be majorly concerned regarding Chilwell’s potential involvement.
