Chelsea’s Azpilicueta not concerned about Lampard’s lack of managerial experience

Azpilicueta backs Lampard

After just one season at Stamford Bridge, Maurizio Sarri decided to leave London to take charge of Juventus.

Sarri had a fairly successful spell in England, which saw Chelsea reach two cup finals, finish 3rd in the Premier League and win the Europe League.

However, with the Italian gone, Chelsea decided to appoint club legend Frank Lampard as their new boss.

Lampard has just one year of managerial experience, during which he took Derby County to the Championship play-off final this past season.

Despite this, Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta isn’t concerned about Lampard’s lack of experience.

The Spaniard instead believes that other factors, such as Lampard’s playing career and his personality, will help him to succeed at Chelsea:

“The whole experience he has as a player, playing at the highest level, under a lot of very good managers.

His personality, behaviour and experience – there is nothing to be worried about as a manager.

“I’m sure that his desire, passion for being manager and this chance to be manager of Chelsea, the club he loves and the fans love him.

“All of the club, we are very excited, and the only way we can carry it is by starting and winning together, getting the feeling back of being all together as a club. Every year gets harder and harder and we have to be ready.” As quoted by the Telegraph.
