Bad Boy Costa in trouble again
Diego Costa and Conte’s rift
There was an unsavoury incident at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, which somewhat marred Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Premier League champions Leicester.
With the score 3-0 and the result basically wrapped up, Diego Costa could be seen gesticulating wildly at manager Antonio Conte on the sideline.
It looked at the time like Costa was asking to be substituted off, but it’s since transpired that he was actually challenging his manager to take him off, as Conte seemed to be criticizing his performance from the touchline.
Costa warned as to his future conduct
It’s now emerged that Costa’s attitude on Saturday didn’t go down well with the club hierarchy, and he’s been warned to show the manager more respect.
It’s not the first time his temper has gotten him in trouble; Costa always seems to be skating a thin line.
He also had some problems with previous manager Jose Mourinho, tossing his bib at the Portuguese from the bench when he realized he wouldn’t be coming on.
Generally, Costa has problems with opposing teams, but he’s no stranger to internal controversy either.
