Chelsea vs Tottenham betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Chelsea vs Tottenham 101 Great Goals prediction: Chelsea 1-2 Tottenham

Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final loss at the hands of Manchester City places Maurizio Sarri’s position at the club under further scrutiny.

Kepa Arrizabalaga’s refusal to leave the pitch now leaves questions marks over whether the Italian manager has lost control over his players.

Tottenham’s title credentials suffered a major blow over the weekend as they were defeated at Burnley.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can recapture the form which saw them beat Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea vs Tottenham betting tips: Who will win?

The Blues are favourites to win heading into Wednesday’s clash at 13/10.

The draw between the two clubs is 5/2 with Bet365.

Tottenham recording a league double over Chelsea for the first time since 1971 is at 9/4.

Whilst Dele Alli has an excellent record against Chelsea, the Spurs midfielder will miss this game.

Harry Kane has already scored against Chelsea in two separate matches this season. He also missed the penalty shoot-out defeat in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

Premier League preview: Chelsea vs Tottenham

Despite a much improved performance in the League Cup final, Sarri’s bust up with Arrizabalaga has only raised many more question marks over his control of the dressing room.

His side have now dropped into sixth and three points behind fourth placed Arsenal, although they do have a game in hand.

The Blues’ 6-0 trashing by City last time out in the Premier League is a result they will be desperate to make amends for against their bitter London rivals.

However, following a congested run of fixtures, including a Europa League clash last Thursday and then 120 minutes of action at Wembley on Sunday, Chelsea will be tested against a Spurs side who enjoyed ten days off prior to travelling to Burnley.

Tottenham’s title hopes take a battering at Burnley

Tottenham were unable to follow up on their 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund as they were outwitted by Sean Dyche’s side.

Despite the defeat, Spurs will have been boosted by the return of Harry Kane.

He completed 90 minutes having spent over a month on the sidelines.

The 25-year-old returns just in time for a run of tough fixtures which sees them take on Arsenal and Dortmund following their trip to west London.

Chelsea vs Tottenham: Who will come out on top at the Bridge?

This is the fourth meeting between Chelsea and Spurs this season.

The Premier League opener at Wembley saw Tottenham smash Chelsea 4-1 with Heung Min Son scoring a wonder solo goal.

This match was the start of Maurizio Sarri’s problems and the Italian did not hold back on his players at full time.

In the Carabao Cup semi-final, Spurs won the first leg 1-0 but Chelsea dominated possession.

The second leg saw Chelsea race into a 2-0 lead before Spurs hit back to secure a penalty shoot-out that they lost to the Blues.

All recent clashes between Chelsea and Spurs have been eventful, it would be no surprise if there is a key result or major bust-up in another high pressured London derby.

Chelsea team news vs Tottenham

Sarri has a huge decision to make following Arrizabalaga’s refusal to be substituted.

Willy Caballero could be the man to replace the Spanish goalkeeper.

Both Gary Cahill and Davide Zappacosta are doubts for the clash.

Long-term absentees Marko van Ginkel and Danny Drinkwater both remain sidelined.

Tottenham team news vs Chelsea

Eric Dier has been ruled out again for Spurs, this time with Tonsilitis.

Kane returned for Spurs on Saturday having spent just over a month on the sidelines.

The 25-year-old played 90 minutes at Turf Moor, meaning Pochettino will need to make a decision over the striker’s ability to start again in quick succession.

Dele Alli remains sidelined, however, he is close to returning to action against Arsenal or perhaps in the away leg against Borussia Dortmund.
