Chelsea vs Slavia Prague prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Slavia Prague

First leg score: Slavia Prague 0-1 Chelsea

After a successful trip to the Czech capital last week, can the Blues finish the job and book their place in the semi-finals?

Chelsea vs Slavia Prague: Who will win?

Chelsea have won 10 of their 11 Europa League games so far and are 1/3 to extend that record.

Slavia Prague have never won any of their 4 visits to England and are 8/1 to change that.

A draw, which would send Chelsea safely through, is 18/5.

Over 2.5 goals is 8/11.

Both teams to score no is 4/6.

Chelsea to win and both teams to score no is evens.

Chelsea are 1/20 to qualify overall; Slavia are 8/1 to make their first European semi-final since 1996.

Olivier Giroud Chelsea

Olivier Giroud is the UEFA Europa League’s top scorer with 9 goals this season. He’s also scored against every different opponent Chelsea have faced this season and is 14/5 to score first and evens to keep that record going.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has started Chelsea’s last 3 league games and is 5/1 to score first and 15/8 to score anytime.

Milan Škoda will lead the line for the visitors looking to add to his 2 Europa League goals. He’s 10/1 to score first and 7/2 to score anytime.

Both Pedro and Giroud to score is 7/2.

Both Giroud and Ross Barkley to score is 6/1.

Both Škoda and Miroslav Stoch to score is 40/1.

Chelsea vs Slavia Prague: Match preview

Do Chelsea have one foot in the semi-finals?

The first leg at Eden Aréna was an even affair but Marcos Alonso headed home with just 4 minutes to go to win the game for Chelsea.

Surely with a 1-0 lead they’ll be able to finish the job at Stamford Bridge won’t they?

Winning the Europa League looks like it could be their best route into the Champions League.

On Sunday, Maurizio Sarri’s side conceded two quick fire goals as they were beaten 2-0 at Anfield.

That means the Blues have picked up a grand total of zero points away from home against the top six sides in the Premier League.

A shocking record.

Benfica or Eintracht Frankfurt await in the semi-finals but will it be Chelsea who are there to meet them?

Mateo Kovacic

Or can Slavia Prague pull off a huge upset?

Jindřich Trpišovský’s side missed loads of chances in the first leg and will probably rue those missed opportunities.

They have won 2 of their 5 Europa League away games so far, against København and Genk.

However, if they did pull this off, this would possibly be the most famous win in their entire history.

They couldn’t could they?

Slavia are on course to win back the league title though.

At the weekend, they drew 1-1 with bitter rivals Sparta Prague but remain 5 points clear of second placed Viktoria Plzeň.

Can they shock Stamford Bridge?

It seems unlikely.

Chelsea Callum Hudson-Odoi

As he has done throughout the tournament, Maurizio Sarri will rotate heavily in the UEFA Europa League.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will keep his place in goal though; he’s played 4,260 minutes this season more than any other Chelsea player.

Antonio Rüdiger limped off at Anfield on Sunday so David Luiz is expected to line-up alongside Europa League ever-present Andreas Christensen.

Marcos Alonso now plays in this competition as he’s lost his place to Emerson.

In midfield, as they didn’t start at Anfield, it’s likely to be Mateo Kovačić and Ross Barkley again.

Barkley is the only Chelsea player one booking away from missing the first leg of a semi-final.

N’Golo Kanté will play the deeper role with Jorginho rested.

Up front, neither Gonzalo Higuaín or Olivier Giroud started at the weekend.

However, Europa League top scorer Giroud will come back in here.

It remains to be seen which two of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian or Pedro flank him.

This team should have far too much for their Czech opponents.

It’s all about finding the right balance for Jindřich Trpišovský.

He knows his side must win here but they’re unlikely to go all out attack from the off.

Goalkeeper Ondřej Kolář will be looking to add to his 18 clean sheets this season including 5 in the Europa League.

Cameroon international Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui will partner Simon Deli, who’s won senior caps for Côte d’Ivoire, at the back.

In midfield, Alex Král is expected to keep his place with Jaromír Zmrhal dropping out.

That’s because key midfielder Tomáš Souček is back; he missed the first leg through suspension.

Further forward, Miroslav Stoch is their top scorer this season; he played 5 times for Chelsea between 2006 and 2009.

Stoch also won the FIFA Puskás Award in 2012 with 78% of the vote for a goal he scored for Fenerbahçe against Gençlerbirliği.

Up front will be Milan Škoda.

Fellow centre-forward Stanislav Tecl hasn’t played since October in Denmark due to a ruptured knee ligament.

Romanian international Alexandru Băluță could be a threat off the bench.

Can this side compete with Chelsea?
