Chelsea vs Everton betting tips: Premier League preview & prediction

Chelsea vs Everton 101 Great Goals prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Chelsea are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues to remain unbeaten in all competitions this season and will look to keep that going this weekend.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have been playing some brilliant stuff this season and have swept away most teams who have opposed them.

Now, they face an Everton side who are looking to keep their own impressive form going.

Despite a loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford a couple of weeks back, the Toffees have won four out of their last five games and will be looking to stun Chelsea this weekend.

Chelsea vs Everton: Who will win?

Despite Everton’s recent form, it will come as no surprise to any of us who the favourite is for this game.

Maurizio Sarri’s men go into the game as extremely heavy favourites.

In fact, it might not even be worth wasting your money by betting on them.

They can be found at odds of 4/11 to win right now.

Incredibly, despite their recent form, Everton go into the game at odds of 15/2 to win.

While it was always expected Chelsea would go in as favourites, you wouldn’t have expected Everton to be so far out in the betting.

With Maurizio Sarri’s men not even worth wasting your time on over a win bet, we should look at the both teams to score market.

Marco Silva’s Everton are starting to hit the right notes up front with Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Theo Walcott and Bernard or Ademola Lookman.

The former has scored six goals so far in the Premier League and certainly has the ability to trouble Chelsea’s defenders.

With that in mind, a Chelsea win and both teams to score can be found at odds of 13/8.

Not great, but better than a Chelsea to win single.

Looking at the goalscorer market, it is heavily populated with Chelsea players.

Eden Hazard is the most likely to score first according to the bookies, priced at 10/3 to net first.

Alvaro Morata is just behind with odds of 9/2.

Ross Barkley is priced at 17/2 to score against his former club.

Richarlison is the 11th most likely player to score according to the bookies, priced at 9/1.

Chelsea vs Everton match preview

What a season it has been so far for Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

As explained earlier, the Blues are the only team in the top five leagues to remain unbeaten in all competitions.

That’s some going considering Sarri is still in his first season and implementing a completely different style than previous years.

Safe to say, his players have taken to ‘Sarri-ball’ like a duck to water and continue to go from strength to strength.

They have won 8 out of 11 Premier League games, the other three results coming in the form of draws against West Ham, Liverpool and Manchester United.

In that spell, they have also beaten Arsenal, Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and easily qualified for the next stage of the Europa League.

One player who has possibly benefitted most from that style change is Alvaro Morata, with the Spanish forward enduring a torrid time last season.

Now, he’s been reborn under new management and has four goals in four Premier League games.

Another player who is clearly enjoying life under Sarri is Eden Hazard.

While the Belgian has always been a standout performer, he has taken his game to a new level this season.

He has already scored seven goals in the Premier League, just five less than he managed in the entirety of the last campaign.

Barring a huge setback, he should surpass last season’s tally and he will be targeting another goal against the Toffees this weekend.

Can the Toffees record a famous victory at the Bridge?

Marco Silva is another manager finding success in his first season with a new club.

The Portuguese boss was hired by Everton in the summer after a few years of instability.

The club backed him to the hilt over the transfer window and are now looking at pushing forward again under a young ambitious manager.

It certainly was a bumpy start to the campaign for Silva, though.

His side started the season okay but they then suddenly found themselves winless in four against the likes of Huddersfield, West Ham and Bournemouth.

The signs were certainly there, but the results were not and poor defensive showings left them vulnerable at the back.

The moment it all changed

Now, that feels like an age ago for Everton fans.

That is because following that spell of poor form, they have gone from strength to strength and now have four wins from five games.

First was a second-half demolition of Fulham, winning 3-0 before an impressive win against Leicester at the King Power.

Another win followed against Crystal Palace before they were faced with too stern of a task, Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Toffees gave a good account of themselves, however, losing 2-1 but conceding a penalty that simply wasn’t a penalty.

Nevertheless, they didn’t let that get them down and produced a very good performance against Brighton last weekend.

The player who has benefitted the most from Marco Silva’s style is no doubt Richarlison.

Everton’s big money signing over the summer had many questions marks over his head when he arrived.

Safe to say, he’s silenced his doubters and is among the Premier League’s top goalscorers this season.

Now, while many will write them off this weekend, Everton and Marco Silva will go to Stamford Bridge without fear and try to record a famous victory to emphasise where the club is headed.

Chelsea team news

There is only one injury doubt for Maurizio Sarri’s men, Cesc Fabregas.

The Spanish midfielder missed out on the Europa League clash with BATE Borisov due to illness

Alvaro Morata, Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz were all rested in that game on Thursday so will likely start the game.

Everton team news

The team news is pretty straightforward for Everton this week.

Kurt Zouma will not be able to face his parent club so that means that Yerry Mina is likely to deputise.

The Colombian who signed from Barcelona in the summer played in a midweek friendly on Tuesday.

James McCarthy and Phil Jagielka, both of whom have struggled with injury this season, also featured.

The one worrying piece of injury news is that Richarlison could potentially have suffered an injury.

News filtered through on Thursday that he had missed training and he did injure himself in the game against Brighton, though was able to carry on.

Marco Silva later confirmed on Friday that the player was a doubt.

Apart from that, Silva should have the majority of his squad to pick from.
