Chelsea vs Bournemouth betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Chelsea vs Bournemouth prediction: Chelsea 3-0 Bournemouth

Chelsea are stuttering.

The Blues have struggled for form lately in the Premier League and need to arrest this now.

They couldn’t really ask for a more favourable fixture than this though.

Bournemouth’s form is even worse and may are worrying their five year stay in the top-flight could be coming to an end.

Will this one be a routine home win at Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea vs Bournemouth: Who will win?

Chelsea are odds on favourites at 1/4 to come out on top in this one.

Bournemouth meanwhile are 9/1 to repeat what they did in 2015 and win at Stamford Bridge.

A draw, which in its self would be a huge shock, is 19/4.

Over 2.5 goals is 2/5.

Both teams to score no though is 10/11.

Chelsea to win and over 2.5 goals is 4/7.

Tammy Abraham is in great goalscoring form. He is 11/5 to open the scoring and 1/2 to add to his impressive tally.

Christian Pulisic has also been amongst the goals in recent matches. Captain America is 4/1 to score first and 6/5 to net anytime.

Callum Wilson will lead the line for the visitors. He is is 9/1 to break the deadlock and 14/5 to score in 90 minutes.

Harry Wilson will also be a threat. The Liverpool loanee is also 9/1 to score first and the same 14/5 to score anytime.

Both Pulisic and Abraham to score is 13/5.

Both Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham to score is 16/5.

Both Josh King and Harry Wilson to score is 20/1.

Both Ryan Fraser and Dominic Solanke to score is 45/1.

Can Chelsea get back on track in the Premier League?

Last weekend, they were outfought and outplayed by Everton, going down 3-1 at Goodison Park.

That means it is now three defats in four for Frank Lampard’s side following losses to Manchester City and West Ham.

Nevertheless, the Blues do remain fourth but their cushion on fifth placed Manchester United is now down to fifth points.

Their aim in the league is to secure Champions League football for next season but their adventure in this season’s competition will continue into the knockout stages.

On Tuesday evening, they hosted LOSC Lille knowing that a win would take them through Group H.

First half goals from Tammy Abraham and then captain César Azpilicueta saw them just about beat their Ligue 1 counterparts.

Former Chelsea man Loïc Rémy did make it interesting late on but the current crop of Blues held on for a 2-1 win.

Thus, Chelsea progress in second place behind Valencia on head to head and they wait for Monday’s draw.

First though, there are three precious Premier League points up for grabs.

Before the year is out, Chelsea pay both Tottenham and Arsenal a visit.

Will they go into those potentially pivotal fixtures following a win?

Bournemouth back to winning ways?

Bournemouth meanwhile head to the capital in no form at all.

Last weekend, the Cherries were simply outclassed, going down 3-0 at home to run-away league-leaders Liverpool.

In isolation, there is no shame in that but it is yet another defeat for Eddie Howe’s side.

In fact, it is now five loses in a row and they have only won one of their last ten, dating back to 20 September.

This atrocious form means they are now 15th, just one point above the relegation zone.

If this continues, Bournemouth’s five-year stay in the top-flight could be coming to an end.

They have only ever won one trip to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League but that was their very first, four years ago last week.

How they could do with a repeat but that does seem very unlikely.

Chelsea team news vs Bournemouth

In a game Chelsea are expected to win and comfortably too, Frank Lampard is likely to make offensive changes from Tuesday.

As always, Kepa Arrizabalaga will be in goal.

In defence, captain César Azpilicueta has now scored two goals in his last three Champions League games, more than he had in his first 46 appearances in the competition.

However, he’s likely to be left on the bench for this one with Reece James coming in at right-back and Emerson Palmieri keeping his place on the other side.

At centre-back, Antonio Rüdiger made just his second appearance of the season in mid-week after two injury lay-offs.

However, he is unlikely to be risked so soon after that comeback.

So, Fikayo Tomori will come in to partner Kurt Zouma.

In midfield, it was Jorginho, N’Golo Kanté and Mateo Kovačić in the Champions League.

However, against Bournemouth, Lampard can surely afford to play the more creative Mason Mount.

If he does, Kovačić will probably be the man to make way.

Out-wide, Willan and Christian Pulisic are very much first-choice ahead of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Pedro.

Likewise, Tammy Abraham will keep his place up-front.

He has scored in his last three appearances at Stamford Bridge in all competitions, having scored in just one of his first eight home games this term.

Will their top scorer fire them to a victory here?

As for Bournemouth, to compound their miserable form, their injury lists seems to grow as every game passes.

Aaron Ramsdale will do well to add to his three clean sheets for the season in this one.

That’s because, in defence, they’re now without Adam Smith, Steve Cook, Charlie Daniels and Nathan Aké.

The latter went off at 0-0 against Liverpool last weekend.

So, they will basically play all of the defenders they have available.

Diego Rico, Chris Mepham and Jack Simpson will all start; the latter has made just eight Premier League appearances since his first in December 2017.

Simon Francis will keep his place over Jack Stacey at right-back.

In midfield, there’s no David Brooks or Andy Surman.

Jefferson Lerma and Philip Billing will continue as the central duo but Lewis Cook will come in to add defensive stability.

This’ll give Harry Wilson and Ryan Fraser out-wide more license to attack.

Dan Gosling will be jointed in the bench by Arnaut Groeneveld and former Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke.

Callum Wilson will be up-top on his own with Josh King injured.

Can this depleted side pull of a huge upset?
