Chelsea trio absent from training ahead of Bayern Munich

Chelsea will then make the trip to Germany for the reverse leg on March 18th.

The Blues head into the tie on the back of a positive 2-1 victory over capital rivals Tottenham over the weekend.

Chelsea dominated proceedings on Saturday, and goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso ensured that Frank Lampard secured the double over his former boss, Jose Mourinho.

You can watch the highlights below.

Chelsea trio miss training ahead of Bayern Munich

Chelsea would train for their upcoming clash with high-flying Bayern on Monday.

But three of Chelsea’s first-team stars were absent from the session.

N’Golo Kante was already ruled out for around three weeks by Lampard prior to Saturday’s game with Spurs. So, the Frenchman’s absence shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise.

But, as well as Kante, The Athletic’s Simon Johnson confirmed that both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic didn’t train with the rest of the Chelsea squad on Monday.

Vaishali Bhardwaj also reported that the aforementioned trio didn’t train at Cobham.

Pulisic hasn’t featured for the Blues since January 1st, while Hudson-Odoi has missed Chelsea’s last two league outings.

And, given the fact that both Pulisic and CHO missed training the day before Tuesday’s game, you would imagine that means that they will not be featuring vs Bayern, though Frank Lampard may give a different view when he holds his pre-Bayern press conference later today.
