Chelsea training photos confirm triple boost before Malmo

Premier League giants Chelsea have, on Monday evening, been handed a timely triple boost on the personnel front.

Chilwell decides it

Thomas Tuchel’s men made their return to action on the back of the international break this past weekend.

After seeing Liverpool leapfrog them to the Premier League’s summit owing to a 5-0 drubbing of Watford in the day’s early kick-off, the Blues made the short trip to the Brentford Community Stadium, eyeing a 3-point haul of their own on Saturday evening.

And, when all was said and done, bag their 6th victory of the English top-flight season is precisely what Tuchel and co. managed… just.

A pulsating 90 minutes, across which hosts Brentford proved themselves deserving of at the very least a share of the spoils, ultimately played out into a 1-0 Chelsea win.

Ben Chilwell proved the match-winner, rifling home a sumptuous effort from the edge of the area early in the 2nd-half to keep alive a fine personal spell of form, and send the Pensioners back to the top of the Premier League in the process:

Rudiger amongst returnees

What made Chelsea’s latest victory all the more impressive on Saturday is the fact that it came with the capital giants unable to call on a whole host of key performers.

In the attacking third, both Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech were unavailable to Thomas Tuchel.

At the back, meanwhile, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger missed out, forcing together an altogether unfamiliar defensive core of Trevoh Chalobah, Andreas Christensen and debutant Malang Sarr.

As outlined above, though, with just 48 hours to go before their next outing, on Monday, Chelsea have been handed a timely boost.

This comes in the form of confirmation that all of Hakim Ziyech, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva have returned to first-team training. The trio, in turn, all look set to be in contention to feature versus Malmo in the Champions League on Wednesday night:
