Blow for Chelsea: Three stars confirmed out vs Bournemouth

Chelsea vs Bournemouth

After a comfortable 3-0 win against Newcastle in the FA Cup, Chelsea are back in Premier League action on Wednesday.

Bournemouth are visitors to Stamford Bridge to take on last season’s champions.

Chelsea, third in the table on 50 points from 24 game, are three points behind Man United.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are just three points behind the Blues in the congested top four.

Bournemouth are 12th, yet they are amongst a group of eleven teams who could all go down this season. The Cherries only have a three point buffer off the bottom three.

David Luiz, Alvaro Morata & Willian

Antonio Conte confirmed in his presser on Tuesday that David Luiz, Alvaro Morata and Willian are all out of the Bournemouth game.

Luiz, who have been tipped for a January exit, has an ankle injury.

Morata has been missing with a back problem. The striker has also recently lost a close friend in a car accident, and it’s believed he returned to Spain for the funeral.

Willian was taken off during Chelsea’s 2-1 loss at the Emirates last Wednesday.

In happier news for the Blues, Thibaut Courtois and Cesc Fabregas are fit for the midweek game.

Signing Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud?

Chelsea remain a hot topic in the transfer window.

There’s talk that Michy Batshuayi will move to Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has also been mentioned as a possible Chelsea target. As is Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente.

Conte was pushed to make a few comments on those possible deals in his presser.
