Reports stemming from France this weekend suggest that Premier League giants Chelsea have joined the hunt for Layvin Kurzawa.
Kurzawa, a 27-year-old left-back, has been on the books at the Parc des Princes since 2015, when he made the move to Paris from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco.
The seasons since, though, have seen the stopper drift in and out of the starting XI of PSG.
He has never managed starts in more than half of the capital giants league outings over the course of a campaign, with Kurzawa’s most fruitful season in terms of time on the pitch having come in 2017/18.
The arrival of Juan Bernat, however, has since seen the French international pushed further down the defensive pecking order of Thomas Tuchel, with his game-time having dwindled further this season as a result.
Before the Ligue 1 campaign was brought to a premature end, Kurzawa had started just 9 of PSG’s 27 outings.
As such, with Kurzawa’s game-time in Paris unlikely to improve anytime soon, and the stopper’s contract set to expire at the end of the month, it has long been common knowledge that he is set to move on this summer.
A host of clubs across Europe, meanwhile, are thought to be interested in the soon-to-be free agent’s signature.
The winter transfer window of course saw Arsenal hotly-tipped as a potential destination for Kurzawa, with the Gunners having been locked in ‘advanced talks’ to seal a cut-price/potentially free deal:
Arsenal in advanced talks to sign PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa. Negotiating today over deal for this window. Free agent in summer so trying to do it now without fee. #AFC working on 3-4 loan / free / low fee deals (doesn’t mean will do all) @TheAthleticUK: https://t.co/OmzZiA5Ije

And, if the latest speculation emerging from the French media is to be believed, then Arsenal remain firmly in the hunt for the 27-year-old.
Mikel Arteta’s men, though, along with Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan, have now reportedly been joined by a fresh contender for Kurzawa’s signature.
The outfit in question? Chelsea.
The Blues are expected to be on the lookout for reinforcements at left-back this summer, with the futures of both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri up in the air.
And, according to France Football, Kurzawa has been identified as a potential arrival at Stamford Bridge.
It is claimed that Chelsea made contact with the PSG man’s representatives earlier this week, to sound out his interest in joining the club.
Kurzawa, in turn, is said to have been positive in his response, though the Frenchman is awaiting clarification over the futures of aforementioned pair Alonso and Emerson, before coming to a definitive decision.
