Chelsea star singled out for praise despite draw with Brighton
Brighton vs Chelsea
Chelsea faced a trip to the Amex on Tuesday evening, taking on Brighton.
Chelsea headed into the game having won just one of their last five Premier League matches, a record which had seen their 2021/22 Premier League title hopes all but disappear.
And, vs Brighton, Chelsea once again looked well off the pace in the first 45.
The Blues were struggling to keep the ball and created very little. However, just when the away side were crying out for one of their attackers to step up, Hakim Ziyech scored a lovely goal, smashing his effort into the bottom corner of Robert Sanchez’s net:

Taking the lead did not seem to boost Chelsea’s mood on the evening, however.
Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech appeared to be having words when they walked off the pitch at half-time, whilst Thomas Tuchel came out very early for the second half and was reportedly sat ‘with a face like thunder’.

Brighton then came out and dominated the opening of the second 45 and were eventually rewarded for their dominance when Adam Webster smashed a header past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Thiago Silva praised
In the end, Chelsea were able to keep the score level at 1-1, with Brighton probably feeling somewhat aggrieved they did not end up with all three points.
As for Chelsea, despite most of the side putting on a poor showing vs Brighton, one man did standout for his impressive performance on the night.
That man was Thiago Silva, who has since been praised heavily online by Chelsea fans, with just some reaction shown below:
Thiago Silva has been immense again tonight. What an incredible player and professional still dropping world class performances af 37 years of age. Aging like fine wine.
