Chelsea snubbed by Max Allegri, linked to Rafa Benitez & nowhere regarding Watford’s Javi Gracia

Who will be Chelsea’s manager in 2019-20?

For the second summer running, there’s a lot of confusion regarding who’ll be the next Chelsea manager.

Twelve months ago, Antonio Conte began pre-season with Chelsea, before he was eventually replaced by Maurizio Sarri weeks before the start of the Premier League campaign.

Now, speculation is rife that Sarri is set to leave Chelsea.

Sarri is reportedly keen to join Juventus. However, that deal still hasn’t happened.

But if Sarri goes, who will Chelsea appoint in their dugout?

On Tuesday, there are updates regarding Max Allegri, Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez and Watford’s Javi Gracia.

Chelsea snubbed by Max Allegri

Max Allegri has just left Juventus after five years in Turin.

According to La Repubblica (via Goal.com) on Tuesday, Chelsea have approached Allegri about becoming their manager.

However, Allegri responded with a “heavy no”.

Why? Because Allegri reportedly wants to take time out of the game following his stint at Juve.

Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez a Chelsea target?

In the surprise update of the day, Tuttosport have suggested that Rafa Benitez could leave Newcastle to become Chelsea’s manager for a second time.

Of course, Benitez had success at Stamford Bridge previously, winning the Europa League.

Chelsea also finished third in the league under Benitez.

Tuttosport say Chelsea have started talks over Benitez’s possible appointment. The paper also speculates that Chelsea and Benitez could have a face-to-face meeting soon.

Watford’s Javi Gracia

One manager that’s previously been linked to Chelsea is Watford’s Javi Gracia.

Gracia penned a long-term deal with Watford last season, as the Hornets reached the FA Cup final.

According to reporter Adam Leventhal, Chelsea haven’t made any approach for Gracia.

Moreover, suggestions that Chelsea could sign Gracia for 15 million pounds are wide of the mark.
