Reports across the English media this afternoon suggest that Chelsea have joined the hunt for highly-regarded Birmingham City starlet Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham, a 16-year-old midfielder, came up through Birmingham’s youth ranks.
The English youth international had been viewed as one of the finest talents on the books at St. Andrew’s for some time, eventually resulting in Bellingham, despite his tender years, being introduced to the club’s first-team setup ahead of the current campaign.
And to say that the teen has since gone on to impress at senior level would be putting it lightly.
Incredibly, Bellingham has featured in all but 4 of Birmingham’s 32 Championship fixtures to this point in the campaign.
The midfielder has even chipped in with 4 goals and 2 assists across these appearances.

As such, Bellingham’s impressive, but above all mature displays at the heart of the Blues’ midfield this season have inevitably resulted in speculation of late that he has been added to the respective wishlists of a number of English football’s giants.
Chief among these clubs have been Manchester United, with reports last month having gone as far as to suggest that the Red Devils had tabled a £25 million bid for the youngster:

As per the latest speculation spreading across England this afternoon, though, United look set to face stern competition from Frank Lampard’s Chelsea for Bellingham’s signature.
Having announced a deal for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech earlier today, it appears as though the Blues are already working on their 2nd summer addition.
It is claimed that Chelsea are ‘prepared to pay a mind-boggling £35m for the England youth star, plus £15m in add-ons.’
Such a proposal, meanwhile, would not be expected to have an effect on the Londoners’ pursuit of Borussia Dortmund standout Jadon Sancho.
