Chelsea predicted line-up vs Arsenal: N’Golo Kante out, Marcos Alonso in

Chelsea & Europa League final

Will Chelsea beat Arsenal in the Europa League final?

Should that happen, Chelsea’s Italian coach Maurizio Sarri will finally win the first major trophy of his career.

Of course, Chelsea lost the League Cup final to Man City earlier this season.

But is the pressure off Chelsea in Azerbaijan?

The Blues finished the Premier League season in third. Indeed, Chelsea finished above Tottenham to rank as the best London side in the league in 2018-19.

As a result, Chelsea have already booked their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Chelsea’s formation vs Arsenal

In the Times on Wednesday, it’s predicted that Sarri will line Chelsea up in a 4-3-3 formation in Baku.

That won’t be a surprise for most Blues fans, as it’s how Chelsea have been set up for the majority of the season.

Bad for the Blues: N’Golo Kante out

Chelsea have been sweating over the fitness of N’Golo Kante in the run-up to the final.

Reports filed out of Cobham earlier in the week that Kante suffered a knee injury in training.

Kante has travelled with the squad to the final, however the Times do not believe that the French World Cup winner will be in the Chelsea XI.

Instead, Sarri could field Jorginho, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic in the middle of the park.

Marcos Alonso vs Emerson Palmieri

2018-19 wasn’t the best season for Marcos Alonso.

Indeed, the Spanish left-back lost his spot in the team to Emerson Palmieri.

Speaking before the final with Arsenal, Alonso has opened up about his struggles this term:

I started very well. Then the manager asked me for something different. I tried to do what he was asking me and maybe when the team started winning games again I had a small injury in my back.

Managers are different, they have different aspects of tactics. He wanted to change the way we play.

In the Times, it’s predicted that Alonso will get the nod over Emerson in the showpiece.
