Abramovich broke silence for Lampard
The Russian owner has removed plenty of managers during his tenure at Chelsea. However, one thing which he rarely does is speak out publicly about the departures of such coaches.
This is a rule which Abramovich broke when he made the decision to remove Lampard from his post, though. Clearly, the Russian has a huge amount of respect for the Chelsea legend, who he describes as an ‘icon.’
“He is a man of great integrity and has the highest of work ethics. However, under current circumstances we believe it is best to change managers,” he said.
