Chelsea ‘offered’ Aubameyang
It’s beginning to become something of a daily occurrence that Chelsea are being linked with Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
With a month to go until Chelsea restart their Premier League campaign against Burnley, it’s completely unknown who will be leading Antonio Conte’s attack.
It’s unlikely to be Diego Costa. He’s been told to find a new club by Antonio Conte, while the Spanish international hasn’t joined up with the rest of the Blues squad on Monday for the start of the club’s pre-season.
Tammy Abraham, meanwhile, has been loaned to Swansea, Dom Solanke has left the club to join Liverpool, while Michy Batshuayi has been linked with a summer departure from the club too.
Chelsea could buy themselves out of trouble, but who?
On Wednesday, the Sun have jumped on the Aubameyang bandwagon, telling their readers the Gabon striker has been “offered” to the Blues.
Other clubs in the Aubameyang race include AC Milan (possibly the favourite) and PSG (rather unlikely).
In truth there’s not too much new in the Sun’s updates, as the rumour has been swirling around since Saturday, when the story was started by the Express.
The major points of note in the Sun’s report is that (a) Chelsea have been told to stump up £65 million for Aubameyang and (b) Chelsea would prefer to sign Alvaro Morata instead.
As for Morata, he’s rejoined Real Madrid this week for pre-season.
