Sky Sports pundit Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea, along with rebuilding Serie A side AC Milan, are battling it out for the signature of Brazilian youngster Richarlison.
Richarlison, a versatile 20-year-old attacker who plays his football for Brasileiro side Fluminense, has been touted as a star of the future for some time in his home country.
The Selecao youth international can play anywhere across an attacking trident, and has racked up 5 goals and 3 assists in 13 Brazilian top-flight appearances in 2017.
Dutch giants Ajax had been reported as having secured a deal for Richarlison earlier this week, though a growing number of reports today insist that it is another side who have taken a firm lead in the race for one of South America’s most talented youngsters.
Despite interest from Manchester United, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Sampdoria, as well as Ajax, it is Premier League champions Chelsea who are said to be just one step away from securing the signature of the former America Mineiro standout.
Antonio Conte is said to have given the move the green light, with Richarlison expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge for a fee in the region of £12 million.
