Boost for Man United: Antonio Rudiger may be absent for Chelsea

Rudiger is missing

Antonio Rudiger could miss Chelsea’s clash with Manchester United.

The defender has been key for Maurizio Sarri’s side this season.

His partnership at the heart of the defence with David Luiz has been an every present.

However, the German will miss the upcoming internationals, and didn’t provide any information as to if he would be fit for Chelsea’s first game after the international break.

The Blues take on Man United, and will want Rudiger back fit as soon as possible.

He explained in his tweet why he would be missing, saying:

“I won’t be available for the German national team for the upcoming two matches due to a groin problem.

“I will do some individual training sessions during the international break and I am confident to be back soon. Best of luck to my German teammates for the next two games.”

Matic issues for United

One issue United may have is that of Nemanja Matic.

The midfielder is thought to be a doubt for the game.

Mourinho seems to be struggling to know who his best team are – but Matic has always been a mainstay of the side.

Now however, he could be forced to do without the Serbian.

Mourinho will be hoping the international break doesn’t throw up any further injuries, after seeing Luke Shaw suffer a concussion last time out with England.
