Chelsea title race will be ‘over’ unless they beat Man City
Title race is huge
Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso has claimed the Blues need to beat Manchester City.
The defender said that unless they come away with all three points, 13 points could well be too many to make up.
Chelsea are in a poor run of form.
They’ve lost to Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves.
The Wolves defeat after being a goal up hit them hard, and they are now looking to bounce back.
However, City are the best team in the league, and a tough side to return to winning ways against.
He said to Standard Sport: “It’s early to talk about this [being out of the title race], but if we lose to City we will be 13 points from the top and that is a lot of points [to make up]. But we just have to think about preparing well and not think about the table.”

Alonso form concerns
One thing that Sarri seems to be refusing to do is drop key players.
There have been concerns over the form of Alonso.
However, Sarri has maintained he thinks the player is in form, and has been rested in other games.
Sarri plays down speculation that Alonso is looking tired. “He has only played league games this season.” Says the left-back was better in the first half at Wolves but “had difficulties in the second half.” He will make a decision on selection after training today. #CFC

The other key question for the Blues of of course the role of N’Golo Kante.
Kante has traditionally been used as the defensive midfielder, but is played higher up the field.
Sarri on N’Golo Kante position criticism: “I can understand why you or someone else doesn’t agree, but I have explaind why [we play Kante in a more attacking role], really well.” #CFC #MCFC

Sarri has criticised him for this at times, and the fans have certainly expressed doubt over the tactics.
