Chelsea looking to hijack Man United’s move for Bellingham – Mail

Bellingham linked with Man United

Jude Bellingham, despite being just 16 years of age, is one of the hottest prospects in the Championship right now.

The 2019/20 campaign has been Bellingham’s breakout season, with the youngster garnering 35 appearances across all competitions for Birmingham.

The England under-17 international is a central midfielder by trade, but he is incredibly versatile, and has played in various positions for Birmingham this term, including centre-forward.

Sam Manoochehri, a former youth coach at Birmingham who worked directly with Bellingham for four years, has recently been speaking about the midfielder, and stated that he has an elite mentality:

“Anywhere Jude goes, he will be a success, based purely on his mentality. I have never seen a mentality more elite than his.

“When I worked with him, when something was tough, he loved it. I can remember games when he wanted to play himself centre half to test himself.” As quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

With Bellingham likely to have an incredibly bright future ahead of him, a plethora of top European clubs look to be targeting him.

Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City have all been mentioned in the same breath as Bellingham this season.

Chelsea eyeing Bellingham

And now, Premier League giants Chelsea look to be stepping up their pursuit of the Birmingham standout.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea had intensified their bid to recruit Bellingham prior to the coronavirus lockdown, with the club stepping up their efforts to lure the starlet away from a potential move to Man United.

The UK outlined strict new measures to tackle the spread of coronavirus at the beginning of the week, and they will be reviewed in three weeks.

But, as per the Mail, prior to the recent lockdown, Chelsea were in talks with Bellingham’s representatives.
