14 years old
Despite being just 14 years old, striker Elye Wahi is already banging goals in for his club’s under-17 side.
The Frenchman scored a brace in Thursday’s 5-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain’s juniors, continuing his fine form from last season.
As the youngster, who plays for SM Caen, walked off the pitch, he was immediately interviewed by a reporter from Le Parisien.
The French news outlet have dubbed him “N’Golo Kante’s little brother,” although that seems an odd title given their positional differences.
The biggest similarities between the pair is that they both hail from the Paris suburb of Courcouronnes and both started their careers at local amateur club JS Suresnes.
“It was tough today, I had an injured calf. I can still do better,” he told the reporter.
Wahi also admitted that “scoring is obsession” for him.
Top clubs interested
Wahi signed a deal with Caen last summer and has gained attention ever since.
Wahi scored 89 goals (yes, 89!) for his team last season, which has deservedly sparked interest from a number of top European clubs.
Liverpool, Tottenham, Southampton, Man City and Man United are all away of Wahi, but it Chelsea are rumoured to be leading the race for the youngster.
