Chelsea are currently looking at two possible options when it comes to replacing Antonio Conte this summer.
The Blues boss is on his way out of the club this summer after losing the faith of the players, fans and board following a disastrous title defence and his treatment of key players, with Diego Costa among them, and now Guillem Balague has claimed Chelsea have two front runners for the job.
He was speaking to Sky Sports, and said: “There have been conversations with Luis Enrique, but also with Max Allegri.
“Chelsea will have to take a decision that should include the question of who will be director of football or technical secretary, the person who works with the club to balance the power and authority a new manager will want, with the what the club has always done, which is take a lot of the decisions regarding the playing staff.”
Conte himself seems to be set on leaving Chelsea after failing to get the players he wanted in the summer – and moaning about the January additions to boot, and it seems that the manager will return to his native Italy.
He does however have the chance to win another trophy, meaning he will have won all domestic trophies possible within two seasons should the Blues lift the FA Cup this season, but they’ll have to firstly get past Southampton in the semi-finals and then one of Man United or Tottenham in the final to be able to do so.
