Chelsea handed huge injury blow as key man forced off before Barcelona tie

Chelsea feared the worst when their side took to their field and struggled in the first half against Bournemouth, and their injury list only seems to be getting longer with each passing game.

Now, their best defender, Andreas Christensen is out – and with what looks like being a hamstring injury, which could of course rule him out for the Barcelona tie in the Champions League that comes in the middle of February.

To lose a player of such quality could well mean the Blues are at a huge disadvantage for the tie, and given they’re being hammered by Bournemouth currently, the club could well be without Christensen and their manager for the game, with Conte walking a tightrope at the minute due to results and the board being unhappy with his comments, meaning the Blues could have far bigger problems by the turn of the month.

As it was, Chelsea fans had enough to worry about, and were seriously worried about what was to come after Christensen went off – something that doesn’t bode well for their Barcelona game if he has done his hamstring.
