Chelsea forward Willian provides an update on his future

Willian’s time at Chelsea

Willian joined Chelsea in 2013 from Russia outfit Anzhi for a fee in the region of £31m.

Since making the move to England, Willian has gone on to make 282 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions.

In those 281 games, Willian has scored 52 and assisted 51.

The Brazilian has also helped Chelsea win the Premier League twice, the League Cup and the FA Cup.

Willian gives contract update

The 2018/19 season has seen Willian play 46 games across all completions for the Blues, scoring eight and assisting 12.

However, Willian is now 30 years of age and coming into the final year of his current contract.

With his Chelsea deal set to run out in July of 2020, Willian has been asked what his future will look like.

Willian appears keen to stay at Stamford Bridge but it does not look as though any talks have taken place over a fresh deal yet:

“I have one year left, but of course I want to play for this club.

“I don’t know if they want me, but of course I want to continue here.

“This club is very special to me. I won titles here, I have the affection from the fans and from the people that work in the club. I feel comfortable to stay.  I am happy when I play well and score goals. I can give a different light.”As quoted by the Evening Standard.
