Chelsea have finally got their man – well a number nine at least, after agreeing a fee with Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata.
In a twist of events, Manchester United have ended up with the player everyone thought was Chelsea’s number one transfer target, and Chelsea have United’s supposed first pick.
That being said, Antonio Conte and Chelsea fans won’t be too bothered they’ve missed out on Romelu Lukaku, with Morata a deadly forward – and one who has a pretty decent first touch at that.
Subject to a medical, Morata will sign a five year deal – £70 million fee.

The signing will certainly please fans, and it seems that Morata is more suited to the system Antonio Conte plays than Lukaku would have been had he resigned for the club, with the five year deal something Chelsea will hope carries them into the future after seeing Diego Costa pine for Spain after less than a year.
Conte himself has penned a new deal, keeping him at the club for the same amount of time as his former deal, but one that will see him net far more in terms of his salary.
