Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is expected to leave the club either at the end of the season – if not before.
That’s according to insider sources, who claim the manager is unhappy at Chelsea, and is making the atmosphere at the club miserable and unstable for the staff and players.
There are a number of issues Conte is facing, including a lack of backing from the board – and the sale of Nemanja Matic, not to mention other players the Italian feels have never really been replaced.
In addition, the terrible start to the season has not helped matters, nor has the situation surrounding Diego Costa.
“This is the kind of situation Antonio cannot cope with,” a source told Yahoo Sport. “When he starts losing matches that is when he gets really crazy.
“It’s impossible to assess what it will take to calm him down.
“When Antonio is in such a state of mind he makes himself hard to cope with everyone, and everything.
“He starts getting angry at staff, players, and others.”
It’s not the first time a Chelsea manager has been on collision course with the board, and it seems that the situation surrounding Diego Costa is the most prominent one, with the forward now even being told to return to the club and get match fit again.
There have even been some tongue in cheek suggestions the forward may even outlast Conte at the club – something that looked unthinkable come the start of the summer, but now could well be the case.
Conte is also thought to be unhappy with the transfer policy – and angry at his players for their showing on the weekend, with Cesc Fabregas coming in for serious criticism after failing to keep his head and losing his discipline, leaving the club to end the game with nine men and face huge selection issues for the weekend’s six pointer with Tottenham Hotspur.
