Chelsea fans lament Diego Costa goalzo vs Real Madrid

Great Diego Costa goal

Diego Costa is a force to be reckoned with.

Love him or loath him, the forward is certainly someone who captures the headlines for better or for worse when he plays.

A key part of Atletico Madrid’s title winning side – and a player who was fundamental to Chelsea’s success as well, the forward has proven himself over and over again.

Now, after rejoining Atleti and playing for them in the second half of last season, the forward led their line in the Super Cup against Real Madrid.

Hardly any time had gone by when the player managed to pull off some excellent work, and scored the opening goal of the game.

Chelsea and Alvaro Morata

Costa was the talk of Twitter, and his former club Chelsea knew exactly what they were missing – and boy, did they want it back.

Chelsea of course have Alvaro Morata, who is far from the forward they need.

Not only has Morata failed to really stand up and be counted during his time at the club, it seems he can’t even come close to doing what Diego Costa did for Chelsea.

Antonio Conte had many issues with Costa, and was even willing to keep the player in exile had he not left for Atleti.

That decision is certainly one Chelsea were left regretting, and plenty of their fans were making that point after Costa’s goal.
