Premier League champions Chelsea have today confirmed that defender Tomas Kalas has signed a new long-term deal with the club, before heading back to Championship side Fulham on loan.
Kalas, a 24-year-old Czech international, was held in high regard as a youngster, and has been at Chelsea since 2010, when he signed for £5.2 million from Sigma Olomouc.
However, the versatile central defender, who can also play at right-back, has made just 2 appearances for Chelsea’s first-team, spending all but one of his 7 years with the Blues out on loan at the likes of FC Koln and Middlesbrough.
Craven Cottage return
Kalas spent last season with Championship outfit Fulham, where he impressed during 38 league appearances for the Cottagers.
And, as confirmed by Chelsea this afternoon, the 6-time capped international’s stellar showings with Slaviša Jokanović’s side have earned Kalas a new 4-year deal at the club, as well as a return to Craven Cottage for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Tomas Kalas has signed a new contract with the club and will spend next season on loan at Fulham…👇https://t.co/4vVtfbFL4C
