Chelsea could look to Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers if Lampard is sacked

Chelsea continue to struggle
Chelsea, despite early season promise, have endured a nightmare stretch in the Premier League of late.
The Blues’ latest Premier League outing saw them put to the sword in concerning fashion by Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City
This result means that the Londoners have now picked up just one win from their last five league outings, three of which ended in defeat.
Their loss to Leicester also saw Chelsea slip down to 9th place in the Premier League table, a staggering 11 points adrift of league leaders Manchester United.

Brendan Rodgers to replace Lampard?
Such poor form has, inevitably, led to speculation that Frank Lampard’s position as Chelsea boss is under threat.
The likes of Ralph Hasenhuttl and Thomas Tuchel have been linked with the Blues’ post in recent weeks, as has former striker Andriy Shevchenko.
And now, this weekend has seen yet another tactician tipped to succeed Lampard at Stamford Bridge.
The manager in question, according to the Mirror, is Leicester City boss and former Chelsea coach, Brendan Rodgers.
The Northern Irishman has done a fine job at the King Power, with Leicester currently in the thick of the Premier League title race.
The report from the Mirror adds that Chelsea’s higher-ups have been impressed by Rodgers’ exploits whilst in charge of the Foxes.
Significantly, though, it is also claimed that the Leicester boss will not consider a move elsewhere until the summer.
