Anything can happen
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has claimed anything can happen in football – and that he could well be sacked at any time.
That’s despite winning the Premier League title last season, and he thinks that the players need to do more – as does he in order to win the games.
He did praise the players, and say that the club are disappointed but need to look at things on a game by game basis.
The Express report Conte said: “At the moment after two defeats and a draw I am happy for the commitment of my players, but after the three results I am not happy.
“Every coach and manager has to feel the pressure.
“I try to give all myself and put everything into the job. When I go to my house I am happy because I put all myself in the job for the fans, club and players.
“But anything can happen in football.
“The most important thing to do is to work, always to have this enthusiasm.
“I don’t care what happens around.
“I think we are doing everything to try to win games. The players’ commitment was very good against City and Roma.
“Our focus is to go game by game. Every opponent can be dangerous for different reasons.
“For us it is important to be focused to go game by game and put ourselves in our game.”
The latest rumours have claimed Chelsea players and the board are unhappy with the situation – and that there are also claims that Michael Emelano stayed at Stamford Bridge until 3am after the Roma game – and that there are annoyances and doubts over Conte’s future and ability to take the team forward.
It’s certainly a shocking turnaround from when he was loved for winning a title following Jose Mourinho’s exit, but as Chelsea have shown over and over again, they have ;little sentiment when it comes to results.
