Chelsea boss Conte discusses importance of Tottenham clash (Video)

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has today opened up on the importance of his side’s matchup with Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Matchup

The two sides are set to go head to head in a Premier League London derby tomorrow evening, with potentially-crucial ramifications in the race for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

As things stand, Spurs currently occupy the final Champions League place, with Chelsea sitting one place and five points adrift of their capital rivals.

As such, a win for Chelsea would see the Blues close the gap to just two points, whereas a Tottenham victory would result in the North Londoners opening up a likely-insurmountable 8-point lead over Antonio Conte’s side.

Road ahead

Following their clash with Spurs, Chelsea face another London derby in their next outing, with the Premier League champions set to welcome West Ham United to Stamford Bridge on the 8th of April.
