Chelsea boss Sarri claims John Terry could return as coach

Chelsea return for John Terry

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has opened the door for John Terry to return to the club.

It would of course only be in a coaching capacity, with the defender at the end of his playing career.

Sarri noted that Terry is Chelsea through and through.

He also said that the defender could come back in terms of the coaching staff, and that he’s in contact with the defender.

Terry has always made his love for Chelsea clear, and it could be the case that he decides to hang up his boots earlier than he initially thought.

The option for a return to Stamford Bridge is clearly on the cards, with Sarri a big fan of the defender.

“The last time I spoke with him he told me he wants to play for another season,” Sky Sports report Sarri said.

“But I don’t know the situation now. I’m talking about one week ago. Chelsea is his home of course.

“In the coaching staff I think. As I said before I want to give space to the younger players. Fortunately we have very strong young players.

“Terry would be a point of reference for me, for everybody here I think.

“Here is his home. So he will be very important for everyone here. His presence.”

Family reasons

Terry had been expected to join Russian side Spartak Moscow.

However, the defender rejected the chance to go to Russia, noting his family didn’t think it was the right time to move.

Terry wants to carry on playing, yet finding a club in England seems to be difficult for him.

He has said previously that playing against Chelsea would not be an option, meaning the Championship could be his only option.
