Barcelona & Andres Iniesta
Spanish icon Andres Iniesta has handed Barcelona a big boost on Monday morning.
Iniesta has been out of action in recent weeks with a hamstring injury.
Many have been sweating on whether Iniesta will be fit to play against Chelsea in the Champions League second-leg on Wednesday night.
Indeed, the playmaker missed the weekend’s 2-0 away win at Malaga.
But on Monday morning it’s been confirmed that Iniesta has participated in the Barcelona first team training session.
That’s a clear indication that Iniesta is in line to play against Antonio Conte’s men.
For the record, Philippe Coutinho is unable to play against the Blues as the Brazilian has featured for Liverpool in the competition this season.
How will Chelsea line-up in the Camp Nou?
Chelsea travel to Spain after the sides drew 1-1 in he the first-leg at Stamford Bridge.
Will Chelsea pull off one of the shocks of the season to knock out the Catalans?
According to the Guardian on Monday morning, Conte is planning to consult with his players about how they should approach the Barca match:
Antonio Conte intends to consult his players over how best to overcome Barcelona on Wednesday, a move which should allow Eden Hazard to argue against his deployment as a false No 9, as he seeks to “share responsibility” before the game at the Camp Nou.
Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud could also start in attack for Chelsea instead of Alvaro Morata.
Morata is in a bad run of form right now, while Giroud impressed in last weekend’s 2-1 Premier League win over Crystal Palace.
David Luiz is injured for the Pensioners.
