All eyes on Thomas Muller
Earlier this summer, Bayern Munich fans had to read about the potential of Robert Lewandowski leaving the Allainz Arena this summer.
Those rumours have since disappeared into the darkness, and on Wednesday they’ve been replaced by a fresh story in Bild focused on Thomas Muller.
The headline news from Bild is that German World Cup winner Muller is a summer transfer target for Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus.
What’s the story?
The 2016-17 season was tough going for Muller.
The 27-year-old forward only managed to score five goals in 29 games last season as he struggled to make an impact for the Bavarians.
Bayern has also signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two-year loan deal which, according to Bild, has pushed Muller closer to the exit door.
Chelsea, Arsenal & Liverpool
Without even delving into the details of the Bild article, it seems highly unlikely that Arsenal or Liverpool would make summer moves for Thomas Muller.
Liverpool seem to have their attack sorted for next season, having signed Mohamed Salah from Roma while Dom Solanke joined from Chelsea.
Arsenal are seem a long shot for Muller after the Gunners broke their club transfer record on Alexandre Lacazette.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are definitely in the market for a forward as Diego Costa prepares to leave the reigning Premier League champs.

Nevertheless, Bild tell their readers that Arsenal, Juventus, Chelsea or Liverpool could sign Muller this summer.
Indeed, Bild claim all four clubs have already tabled official bids for the forward.
Yet, against that, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has denied claims Muller is for sale. He told Bild:
He is still a football player we will not sell. He fits perfectly for Bayern.
Muller is under contract at Bayern until 2021.
