PSG went head to head with last season’s French top-flight champions Monaco at the Parc des Princes yesterday evening, with Unai Emery’s men having showcased their absolute dominance once more with a resounding victory.

Goals from Giovani Lo Celso (2), Angel Di Maria (2), Edinson Cavani, Julian Draxler and a Radamel Falcao own goal saw PSG run out 7-1 victors, handing them the Ligue 1 title with 5 matches remaining.

‘If we had signed with someone…’

Speaking in an interview following confirmation of his side’s title title win, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi was questioned on the recent rumours surrounding the managerial position at the club, amid claims that Unai Emery is set to be imminently replaced by Thomas Tuchel.

Reports from the likes of Bild and SportBuzzer over recent weeks insisted that former Borussia Dortmund boss Tuchel, who has also been linked with Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea, has already agreed to a deal to take over at the Parc des Princes this summer.

However, when pressed on the subject last night, Nasser Al-Khelaifi was adamant that there is no truth behind such claims:

‘If we had signed with someone, we would have announced it to you,’ he told Canal+.

‘Today we have a coach who was on the pitch. We are very honest; we have a coach today who works with us, with a contract until the end of the season.’
