Sam Allardyce on Cenk Tosun
After the Arsenal game, Everton manager Sam Allardyce made some alarming comments about new signing Cenk Tosun.
The Turk replace Oumar Niasse in the 78th minute, and Everton fans are wondering when they’ll see him again. Big Sam said:
He’s had service to him that he’s not held up and he’s found it a bit of a struggle at this level because of the pace and the physicality of the game.
I’m more likely to feed him slowly and give him a bit more time over the next few weeks and hopefully by the end of the season he starts games.
Cenk Tosun talks about his problems
On Tuesday, Turkish news outlet Habertürk have published fresh quotes from Everton striker Tosun.
The 27 million pound signing has revealed it’s not been easy in his first weeks at Goodison Park. Yet he has no intention of throwing the towel in:
It’s not easy to adjust to a new environment, friends even a house. Even though I was born in Europe this situation is different.
I moved from Turkish league which the league I’m playing for years to the toughest league in the world. It’s hard to adapt. Sam told me that too.
He always talks to me. I’ve zero problems. He told me that when I fit into the league and team, I’ll be a regular starter.
I’ve zero interest going back to Turkey at this point.
Yes I’m a Besiktas fan, but I’ll never return to them without fighting and achieving things in Everton. That’s not me.
I’ll show everyone in England who is Cenk Tosun.
I’ve a dream. I never quit a work before completing it. After I finalise my mission in here, and if the conditions are suitable I’d love to go back to Turkey but it’s too early for that.
I’ve just started to know my teammates. In Besiktas, my teammates knew where I was going be on the the pitch before they passed. They knew what I was going to do. In here they’ll learn that too in time.
