Celtic fans start hate campaign against Leicester’s Brendan ‘fraud’ Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers

Celtic & Leicester

It’s been a busy week at Celtic and Leicester.

Leicester began the week sacking Claude Puel, and the Foxes moved quickly to sign Brendan Rodgers from Celtic.

Rodgers was at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday as Leicester beat Brighton 2-1.

As for Celtic, they’ve appointed Neil Lennon as an interim manager until the end of the season.

The Scottish champs were in action on Wednesday night as they beat Hearts 2-1.

Celtic fans vs Brendan ‘fraud’ Rodgers

It’s fair to say that many Celtic fans are furious with Brendan Rodgers for leaving Parkhead to join Leicester.

In the Hearts game, Celtic’s away supporters brought an eye-catching banner to bash their former boss.

The banner read: “You traded immortality for mediocrity: never a Celt, always a fraud”.

Why Brendan Rodgers left Celtic

So why did Why Brendan Rodgers leave Celtic to join Leicester?

The former Swansea and Liverpool boss addressed that issue in an interview with Leicester City TV:

I was certainly in no hurry to leave Celtic. Celtic is a huge club – a worldwide renowned club.

I loved working with the players there and we were on a journey of great success over the last three years.

But, when the opportunity came to talk to Leicester and I was able to analyse it, it allowed me to probably think that I had achieved and taken the club as far as I could at this moment.
