Celtic appoint ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as their new manager

Celtic have tonight announced the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as their new manager.

With Ronny Delia deciding to step down at the end of the Scottish season, the Old Firm giants had been on the lookout for a new manager, and they’ve found one in the form of former Swansea and Liverpool boss Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman was sacked by Liverpool last autumn, with Jurgen Klopp coming in to take his place.

Rodgers has been out of work since then, but has kept himself occupied by doing bits of punditry work.

He’s now set to throw himself right back into action by taking the reins at one of British football’s most historic clubs, ahead of their biggest season in a long time: Old Firm rivals Rangers are back in town…

And he’s wasted no time in trying to ingratiate himself with the Bhoys fans, referring to Celtic Park by its mythical ‘Paradise’ nickname.
