Carlo Ancelotti gives injury update on Gbamin, Gomes & Iwobi

Big update for Everton

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has given an injury update on several players, including Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Alex Iwobi.

The Toffees have really struggled with injuries so far this season.

Players such as Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andre Gomes, Alex Iwobi, Fabian Delph and Morgan Schneiderlin have all spent time on the sidelines.

While Delph and Schneiderlin have returned to action recently, the first three remain out.

Gbamin picked up an injury all the way back in August, while Andre Gomes suffered a horror injury against Tottenham in November.

Alex Iwobi was also ruled out with a hamstring injury last month.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti has given an update on Gbamin, Gomes and Iwobi.

Gbamin, Gomes & Iwobi on the comeback trail

Speaking ahead of Everton’s clash with Brighton on Saturday, Ancelotti confirmed that all three players are well on the road to recovery.

Starting with Gomes, Ancelotti revealed his recovery is ‘going faster’.

“His recovery is going faster,” Ancelotti explained, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

“I hope he can be with us soon because he is a fantastic player.”

Ancelotti then confirmed that Gbamin is back in training, but in individual sessions.

The same applies to Alex Iwobi, who is working away from the first team in a bid to recover.

“Gbamin is working alone in this moment during individual sessions. Same as Iwobi,” Ancelotti continued.

“Everyone else is in good condition.”

That will come as a huge boost for Everton, with all three players integral to how the Toffees play, and likely to feature heavily under Carlo Ancelotti when they return.
