Cardiff suffer Victor Camarasa injury blow vs Huddersfield

Cardiff vs Huddersfield

Cardiff hosted Huddersfield on Saturday in a huge game for the Bluebirds.

When Cardiff won promotion to the Premier League last season they were heavily tipped to go straight back down.

However, Cardiff are doing much better than everyone expected and began game week 22 in 17th place, one point above the drop zone.

The main reason Cardiff have managed to stay in with a chance of avoiding relegation is due to their home record.

Neil Warnock’s side had won five of their 21 league games before Huddersfield, four of those wins came at home.

The remaining win came vs Leicester City were Cardiff came away with a 1-0 win.

As for Huddersfield, they began the day dead bottom of the Premier League with no chance of moving out of the relegation zone on Saturday.

Huddersfield had earned just 11 points from 21 games and look in serious danger of going down.

So, when the Welsh side found themselves at home to the worst team in the league it was a great chance to earn three points.

However, despite Cardiff normally performing well at home, their display on Saturday was woeful.

Cardiff finished the game with just three goal attempts and 39% possession compared to Huddersfield’s 14 goal attempts.

Luckily for Cardiff, Huddersfield are the lowest scorers in the league and were unable to find a way through.

Not so lucky for Cardiff was the injury suffered by Victor Camarasa.

Camarasa has been a regular for Cardiff this season and scored the only goal of the game as they beat Leicester 1-0.
