Callum Hudson-Odoi tries to end his Chelsea career

Callum Hudson-Odoi & Chelsea

Will Callum Hudson-Odoi still be a Chelsea player on February 1?

As the final week of the January transfer window ticks over, Hudson-Odoi is looking to leave Stamford Bridge.

It’s been well-documented in recent weeks that Bayern Munich are keen on signing Hudson-Odoi.

While Chelsea may want to keep hold of the 18-year-old winger, the player has now made his feelings crystal clear.

Hudson-Odoi hands in Chelsea transfer request

As confirmed by Sky Sports on Saturday night, Callum Hudson-Odoi has handed in a transfer request at Chelsea:

With less than a week left of the January transfer window, the 18-year old winger has refused to sign a new contract – reported to be worth £85,000 a week – and believes his future lies with the Bundesliga giants.

Chelsea have so far failed to respond to Bayern’s fourth bid for Hudson-Odoi, which is believed to be £35m.

So will Hudson-Odoi get his move? Or will Chelsea play hardball and refuse to allow the teenage to leave?

For the record, Hudson-Odoi is under contract at Chelsea until 2020.

Gonzalo Higuain & Eden Hazard

Hudson-Odoi has barely featured for Chelsea in the Premier League this season. He’s only made three appearances for a total of 61 minutes.

Looking forward, Gonzalo Higuain’s arrival may also be more bad news for Hudson-Odoi.

With the Argentine now in west London, Eden Hazard is likely to be removed from his false nine role to a wide-left position.

That’s likely to mean Hudson-Odoi’s opportunities of playing at Chelsea this season may be even more restricted.
