Burnley vs Leicester prediction: Burnley 1-1 Leicester

It finished goalless when these two met in December, will there be a winner this time?

Brendan Rodger got off the mark as Leicester manager last weekend so is targeting back to back wins.

As for Burnley, they’re hovering just one place above the drop zone so desperately need the points.

A tough game to call from Turf Moor.

Burnley vs Leicester City: Match preview

Despite their superb run in January and February, Burnley remain very much in trouble.

Between December 30  and February 23, Sean Dyche’s team went 8 games unbeaten amassing 18 points in the process.

However, last Sunday’s 4-2 defeat at Anfield was their third loss in a row after defeats to Newcastle and Crystal Palace.

That leaves them 17th in the table, just two points above Cardiff who occupy the last relegation spot.

It’s a big game for the Clarets so will they return to winning ways?

Jamie Vardy

As for Leicester, Brendan Rodgers is off the mark.

Goals from Youri Tielemans and a brace from Jamie Vardy guided them to a 3-1 win over Fulham last Saturday.

That is just their second win since New Years Day.

Nevertheless, they’re in the top half and chasing down seventh place Wolves who are 6 points ahead.

These are the sort of games they were losing under Puel so will the Rodgers revolution kick into gear at Turf Moor?

Since the 2-0 win over West Ham 11 games ago, only 12 players have started a Premier league game for Burnley.

In fact, 9 players have started all 11 of those games.

It will be the same side that kick off at Anfield last weekend.

That includes goalkeeper Tom Heaton who was recalled to the England squad on Wednesday.

The back 4 of Bardsley, Mee, Tarkowski and Taylor will also be unchanged.

James Tarkowski has made more blocks (43) than anybody else in the Premier League.

In midfield, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood and McNeil will remain.

Despite scoring off the bench last weekend, Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson will once again be left in reserve.

Ashley Westwood also scored in that game, direct from a corner. That was his first Premier League goal for 1051 days.

Up front, Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood have scored 47% of Burnley’s goals in all competitions this season.

They’ll be a threat once again.

Can this settled side upset Leicester?

As for Leicester, they too are expected to be unchanged.

Rodgers went with a 3-4-2-1 in his first game at Watford but reverted to a 4-2-3-1 last weekend.

Kasper Schmeichel will be in goal looking to add to his 7 clean sheets this season.

It’ll be the settled back 4 in front of him with no place for Wes Morgan or young Çağlar Söyüncü.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi has made the third most tackles in the Premier League (105).

Further forward, no player in Europe’s top 5 leagues has created more chances this season than James Maddison’s 81.

He’ll be hoping to supply Jamie Vary who now has 101 goals for the club.

He’s got a long way to go to catch their all time record goalscorer Arthur Chandler who got 273 between 1923-1935.

Will this side prove too good for Burnley?
