Burnley vs Leicester betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Burnley vs Leicester prediction: Burnley 1-2 Leicester

Following a rare dip in form, Leicester have failed to win either of their last two matches. The last time the Foxes went three or more games without a win was 19 January 2019 – exactly one year ago.

Burnley have lost four consecutive Premier League matches, scoring one goal in that period.

If the Clarets lose on Sunday it will be the first time they have ever lost five in a row in the Premier League.

Burnley vs Leicester: Who will win?

Leicester have won six of their last seven away league games. Leicester are 5/6 favourites to win the match while Burnely are priced 10/3. The draw can be backed at 11/4.

Each of Leicester’s last five league games have featured three or more goals. Bet on over 2.5 goals at 10/11.

Jamie Vardy has only scored once in his last six appearances, but he has three goals from his last three matches away from home. Vardy is 11/4 to open the scoring and 4/5 to score anytime.

Burnley vs Leicester Premier League match preview

Matchweek 23 of the Premier League sees Burnley host Leicester at Turf Moor on Sunday

Burnley were comfortably beaten by Chelsea last weekend. Their only win since since Christmas was a 4-2 victory over League One side Peterborough United in the FA Cup.

Burnley are yet to draw a match at home this season, winning five and losing six of their 11 matches at Turf Moor.

Last weekend Leicester suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Southampton – a team they beat 9-0 earlier in the campaign.

Dennis Praet opened the scoring for Leicester but his goal was quickly cancelled out by Stuart Armstrong’s equaliser. Danny Ings scored the winner in the final ten minutes of the match.

Leicester dropped one place into third but they still have a strong grip on their Champions League spot, 11 points above fifth place.

Leicester have the joint-second best away record this season, picking up 22 points from their 11 matches on the road. Only Liverpool (5) have conceded fewer goals on their travels than Leicester’s 10.

Sunday’s match will be the 10th meeting between these two sides. Leicester have won five and drawn two of their previous Premier League matches against Burnely.

Leicester were 2-1 winners in the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium in October. Chris Wood gave the visitors the lead before goals from Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans completed Leicester’s comeback.

Brendan Rodgers could make changes to the side which suffered a shock defeat to Southampton.

Wilfried Ndidi remains sidelined with a knee injury. Wes Morgan is a doubt with a groin injury.

Kelechi Iheanacho could return to the starting eleven, supporting Jamie Vardy up front.

Wide men Harvey Barnes and Ayoze Perez were both brought off against the Saints and could lose their starting spots. Marc Albrighton was an unused substitute last weekend and could also benefit from rotation.

Matty James is unlikely to feature, despite his return to action with the under-23s. Daniel Amartey is another long-term absentee.
