Burnley vs Crystal Palace betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Burnley vs Crystal Palace prediction: Burnley 1-1 Crystal Palace

Two sides enjoying life in mid-table but neither is certain of safety yet.

They’re currently level on points in the table so will it stay that way after this clash at Turf Moor?

Burnley vs Crystal Palace: Who will win?

Burnley are the slight underdogs at 7/4 to get back to winning ways.

Palace are narrowly favourites at 8/5 to leave Lancashire with all 3 points.

A draw is 11/5.

Under 2.5 goals is 8/11.

Both teams to score is 4/5.

Chris Wood has been in fine form for Burnley. The New Zealand international forward is 5/1 to score first and 9/5 to score anytime.

His strike partner, Ashley Barnes, has also been scoring regularly recently. He’s 4/1 to score first and 6/4 to score in 90 minutes.

Michy Batshuayi could be Palace’s biggest threat. The Belgian is 13/2 to break the deadlock and 5/2 to get his second goal for the club.

Both Barnes and Batshuayi to score is 9/1.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace: Match preview

Burnley’s unbeaten run is over.

On Tuesday night, the Clarets were beaten 2-0 at St James’ Park by Newcastle United.

Prior to that, they had gone 8 league games unbeaten equalling a club top flight record set in 1966.

That run included a draw at Old Trafford and last Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Spurs.

Sean Dyche’s team are now 15th and there’s a 5 point gap between them and the bottom 3.

Will they return to winning ways?

Palace also have 30 points and were also beaten in midweek.

Hodgson’s side put in an underwhelming display in a 3-1 home defeat to an injury ravaged Manchester United.

That result followed 2 wins and 2 draws including last weekend’s 4-1 demolition of Leicester away form home.

Palace actually have picked up more points on the road than at Selhurst Park; 17 compared to 13.

Will it be they who returns to winning ways with another away win?

Sean Dyche was forced into one change on Tuesday but will revert to the team that he’d picked for the 6 games prior to that.

Tom Heaton tasted defeat for the first time in the Premier League since August 2017.

The back 4 in front of him will also be unchanged.

James Tarkowski has made more blocks than anyone else in the Premier League (40) with Ben Mee and Charlie Taylor also in the top 5 for that particular stat.

In midfield, Ashley Westwood missed the midweek game through illness.

However, he’ll come back in for Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson with Jeff Hendrick moving out wide.

Up front, Barnes and Wood remain a lethal partnership.

One or the other of them has scored each of Burnley’s last 7 goals and they’ve scored 48% of their goals overall.

Will they prove too hot to handle for Crystal Palace?

As for the visitors, continuity has been the name of the game for them too.

Despite defeat on Wednesday, they’re likely to keep the same XI.

Vicente Guaita will continue in goal.

In defence, Mamadou Sakho went off injured at Leicester and is unlikely to be fit for this match. The former PSG and Liverpool defender could be out for the season.

Martin Kelly will continue to fill in at centre-back.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also likely to miss out so Wednesday’s goalscorer Joel Ward will continue on the right.

In midfield, since his debut in February 2017, Luka Milivojević has scored more Premier League goals than any other Crystal Palace player (20), including 8 this season.

Further forward, Zaha, Schlupp and Townsend will continue behind Michy Batshuayi.

Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew will once again be left in reserve.

Will this side leave Lancashire with a point or even all 3?
