Brighton & Hove Albion v Wolverhampton Wanderers - Premier League

Burnley vs Brighton betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Burnley vs Brighton prediction: Burnley 1-1 Brighton

Sean Dyche’s Burnley need a win and they need a win now.

The Clarets have not won since 30 September and their terrible form has seen them slip into the bottom three.

Brighton meanwhile don’t have any relegation worries.

Tuesday’s derby victory has seen them rise into the top half so will they make it three wins in just 7 days?

A big 3 points are at stake at Turf Moor.

Burnley vs Brighton: Who will win?

Burnley are 9/5 to win for the first time in 9 games.

Brighton are big favourites at 13/8 to claim their third away victory of the season.

A draw is 21/10.

3 0f Burnley’s last 5 games have seen over 2.5 goals; it’s happened in 4 of Brighton’s last 5 but is 11/8 to occur here.

Both teams to score is evens.

Glenn Murray

Chris Wood has scored just three goals this season. However, the New Zealander is 5/1 to net first and 2/1 to score anytime.

Glenn Murray, as ever, is Brighton’s main man for goals. He’s netted 8 times in the Premier League this season and is 4/1 to break the deadlock and 6/4 to get another goal in this game.

Both Murray and Florin Andone to score is 6/1.

Burnley vs Brighton: Match preview

Burnley have lost the ‘eye of the tiger’ according to manager Sean Dyche.

They only had one point from their first five games but this was put down to their Europa League exploits.

As soon as they were knocked out of Europe by Olympiakos, they won back to back games, beating Bournemouth and Cardiff.

However, they’ve returned to their early season poor form since.

In October, they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Huddersfield before losing to Manchester City, Chelsea and West Ham, conceding 13 goals in those three matches.

In fact since that Huddersfield match, they’ve picked up just one point; a resilient 0-0 draw at Leicester.

Last weekend, they were beaten 2-0 at Selhurst Park but that only tells half the story.

Crystal Palace had 29 shots in that match to Burnley’s 4 (none of which were on target).

They were better on Wednesday albeit in defeat against Liverpool.

Jack Cork’s goal did give them the lead before Liverpool’s class told and the Reds won 3-1.

Nevertheless, that’s something to build on but they really need points from this one.

The Seagulls soaring into the top half

Brighton will certainly not be easy opponents.

Chris Hughton’s side will travel to Turf Moor looking to make it three Premier League wins in a row for the second time this season.

In October, they won all of their matches 1-0 beating West Ham, Newcastle and Wolves.

That was then followed by defeats to Everton and Cardiff as well as a 1-1 draw with Leicester.

However, this week could hardly have gone any better.

Last Saturday, they came form a goal down to win 2-1 away at Huddersfield.

Then, on Tuesday, they won the M23 derby; convincingly dispatching rivals Crystal Palace 3-1 at the Amex.

Now they’ll look for another win which, if results go their way, could see them end the day in sixth place.

Will they be too good for Burnley?

Despite being on this poor run of form, Sean Dyche isn’t one for making wholesale changes to his starting XI.

Joe Hart has played every minute in the Premier League and has made 69 saves so far, 9 more than any other goalkeeper.

Ben Mee has also played every minute and he’ll partner James Tarkowski who was recalled for Wednesday’s clash with Liverpool.

Charlie Taylor impressed at left-back so should keep his place.

Steven Defour isn’t 100% fit so Ashley Westwood will keep his place in midfield.

Aaron Lennon may well come in for Robbie Brady out wide with Icelandic international Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson switching to the left hand side.

Chris Wood and Ashely Barnes started up front on Wednesday and appear to be the preferred partnership.

Although, Sam Vokes and Matěj Vydra both came off the bench in that match and will be desperate to make an impact again.

Will this Burnley team recapture their form from last season and get a much needed win?

As for Brighton, only Mat Ryan has played every minute in the Premier League this season, just as he did last season.

There will be changes at the back though.

Shane Duffy’s red card on Tuesday means he’s suspended so Leon Balogun, who scored with his first touch of the bench in that match, will start here.

Gaëtan Bong and Bruno were the established full-backs but they appear to have been displaced by Bernardo and Martín Montoya respectively.

Davy Pröpper and Pascal Groß, who both had long term injuries, are the key cogs in the side.

Anthony Knockaert is likely to come in for Solly March on the wing with José Izquierdo on the other side.

Record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh is out.

Chris Hughton has a conundrum up front.

Romanian international Florin Andone has scored twice in their last two games but only Aubameyang and Kane have scored more Premier League goals than Glenn Murray’s 8.

The latter will probably get the nod, if he overcomes an injury that saw him come off against Palace, with Andone hoping to make an impact off the bench.
